‘... a greater reduction in global brain size in the SARS-CoV-2 cases. The participants who were infected with SARS-CoV-2 also showed on average a greater cognitive decline.

... participants who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 showed a worsening of executive function.

Whether these abnormal changes are a hallmark of the spread of the pathogenic effects, or of the virus itself in the brain, and whether these abnormalities may indicate a future vulnerability of the limbic system in particular, including memory, remains to be investigated.’
